from what ive seen one of the best all around cams for dd is the 224 with a nice set of heads. i would either go 112 or 114 and they both have great idles. The centers its ground on is all up to personal preference.

nhra formula im very impressed with that 12 flat and im interested to know what else you have done. small enough to remain very very civil and when combined with the right heads has the potential to put you in the 11s. Comp Cams CS XR276HR-12 CAM / KIT Operating Range:1800-5800Duration Advertised:276° Intake/281° ExhaustDuration. id like to see gm build a 6 second strip car that will run with wheel to wheel's monster.Īnyway, the 224 is the cam i want and its a beauty. this is as listed in the latest catalog i received from Scoggin-Dickey. and its alittle funny to say gm knows more about their cars thatn aftermarket tuners. The HOT cam kit comes with the cam, valve springs (LT-4), retainers, locks, spring shims, and 1.6 ratio aluminum bodied self-aligning roller rocker arms for 499.95. Yeah i wouldnt put a hotcam in an ls1, just because there are so many better choices out there than that. so much infact, that i have delayed installing the TSP 231/237 cam that i have been sitting on for 6 months now.shit or get off the pot boy!! though i might not have 1/4 miles times that NHRA does (i need practice), this cam has impressed me beyond what i thought possible.

it's a great under the curve cam that when combined with the other mods i have done, really screams. Its a Comp Cam Grind: 224/224 i chose the narrower lsa since i wanted a nice chop at idle and to also have a cam that produces a nice long and flat TQ curve. Thanks in advance.I run the same cam as NHRAFormula except with a 112lsa. Those are the questions.gimme your oppinions guys. Has anyone run this cam with 1.5 rocker arms? I'd really prefer to swap this cam without pulling the heads. Are you looking for a stock replacement cam, or do you want to have a hot rod Theres thousands of different cam grinds for a small block Chevy. I'm thinking that I may go with 1.5 rockers to eliminate the need to enlarge the pushrod holes in the heads. There was a guy on one of these boards that hit 350 or so on stock heads with the hot cam. All the specs on the cam are measured with 1.6 rockers as well. I found the LT4 hot cam in the GM performance parts catalog. Assuming I will need shorter pushrods? Am I missing anything guys?Ģ. The Hot cam would work well ok,but, for your 327, you will need a retro roller cam setup. Not the the step nosed OEM roller, so, the actual GM Hot cam wont work. Its a great cam & in a well built Vortec headed 350 with 10:1, can knock on the door of 400 HP. I know I'll need the cam, hydraulic roller lifters, "spyder" retainer, and valvesprings (going to use the Comp beehives for LS motors because they are said to go right onto to Vortec heads without machining). I'm cosidering swapping the hot cam into my engine. I know that my engine shares the same block as the other factory roller cam blocks. It has a hydraulic flat tappet cam in it right now. Has anyone on here had experience with this cam in a 350? I have a 350HO crate motor in my DD.
